WiC’s West Midlands Project Manager, Steph Sheppard speaks with Amber and Kay about their experiences on WiC run employability programmes whilst also detailing how WiC can support you.

Kay, who was still at school when she was introduced to WiC, started the programme with aspirations to become a Quantity Surveyor. In the discussion, Kay details how her work placements with Bouygues and Persimmon Homes through the HBF programme, allowed her to explore different roles and to settle on Site Management.

Amber had already undertaken her carpentry training, but was struggling to secure a role before coming to WiC. Amber talks about how she grew with confidence since taking part in the HBF WiC programme having met with employers, completed her training to get her CSCS card and undertaken hands-on, practical experience on-site with Kier Living.
