Work placements completed on West Midlands HBF programme
We are delighted to share the success of our recent West Midlands collaboration project with The Home Builders Federation with you.
18 women completed training in Level 1 H&S, CSCS, First Aid and Duty Access Marshall (DAM) with a selection of women who were interested in operating plant also completing their roller and dumper training.
This was followed by 2-week work placements through our Home Builder employers Persimmon Homes, Lovell Partnerships Ltd, Bellway Homes, Galliard Homes, Kier Group, Redrow Homes, Barratt Developments plc, McCarthy & Stone, St. Modwen, Lendlease and St Josephs. Women were placed in a variety of different roles; from office-based functions such as land & planning, sales & marketing and customer services to working on sites where they have seen the array of trades required to build a house, the different stages of house building and how the sites were managed.
All women are now job-ready, have been skilled/upskilled and been given the opportunity to work within a construction environment.
WiC will continue to support them in their search for employment with three of our women from this project gaining jobs immediately.
